Diamant Gong

For optimal strength, safety, and service life, we offer several hole configurations:

ROM Standard

Our in-house developed hole pattern with rounded transitions and minimal sharp edges. This reduces stress concentrations and the risk of cracking over time.

Designed for M16 bolts. We recommend using a carriage bolt (not included), as this reduces the risk of the target falling off if the bolt head is hit.

Single Standard

One centered ROM standard hole. Suitable for simple mounting solutions and compact setups.

Double Standard

Two ROM standard holes positioned for optimal balance, for example when using chain or wire suspension.

Triple Standard

Three ROM standard holes for increased flexibility in mounting and suspension.

Round holes Ø8–Ø16

Simple round holes in the selected diameter. Suitable for standard bolts without a square neck or special profile.

Theoretical minimum distances (quality-preserving use)

The following distances are calculated as theoretical minimum distances to preserve material quality and service life of the target. These distances are not to be considered a safety guarantee for the user or surroundings.

• .223 (5.56×45): minimum 150 m
• .308 (7.62×51): minimum 200 m
• 6.5: minimum 200 m
• 30-06: minimum 250 m
• .300: minimum 300 m
• .338: minimum 400 m
• .50: not allowed

ROM Targets currently provides no performance or service life guarantees beyond warranty against manufacturing defects. All use is at the user’s own risk.

Over time, ROM Targets will conduct extended testing on the relationship between material thickness, shooting distance, and material performance. Any distance guidelines, recommendations, and warranty terms will be updated based on documented test results.

Important safety rules

• Always use approved eye and hearing protection when shooting.
• Ensure a safe backstop, safe firing directions, and sufficient safety distance from people, buildings, and equipment.
• The target must be inspected before each use. Discontinue use immediately if cracks, deformation, deep pitting, or other structural damage are detected.
• Ammunition with steel core, armor-piercing, or incendiary projectiles is not permitted for use on these targets.
• Improper use may result in ricochets, increased risk of personal injury, damage to property, and voiding of any warranties.
  

The gong is delivered pre-painted in ROM White for high visibility and reduced risk of corrosion during outdoor use. The surface treatment helps protect the steel against moisture, dirt, and surface rust, but will naturally wear over time with use.

After shooting, it is recommended to:

• Remove loose lead and copper residues as well as dirt from the surface. This can be done using a stiff brush, cloth, or compressed air.
• Inspect the surface for visible damage, cracks, or deformation before further use.
• If needed, minor paint damage can be repaired to reduce the risk of surface rust.

A paint repair kit is under development and will be made available for easy maintenance and extended service life.

During storage, the target should:

• Be stored in a dry and well-ventilated area when not in use.
• Avoid prolonged contact with moisture, soil, or standing water.
• If possible, be stored indoors or under cover to reduce condensation and corrosion.

Hardox 450 has high wear resistance and good resistance to deformation, but it is still a carbon steel and may develop surface rust if stored in damp conditions over time. Surface rust will normally not affect function or strength, but regular cleaning and basic surface protection will help preserve both appearance and service life.
